2010 Betting Odds

The odds for the 2010 will be announced in March. We have put together some betting facts from previous races which will help you decide on your horses when the time comes to place your free Grand National bets.

  • Mon Mome famously won the 2009 race after going off a 100/1 shot. Not since 1967 has a horse with such long odds won the race.
  • In the last ten races, only once has the outright favourite won the race. Comply or Die, who was named Joint Favourite, also won in 2008.
  • No horse since Red Rum in 1974 has carried more than 11 stone 8 pounds to victory.
  • No trainer or jockey has won back-to-back Nationals since Ginger McCain (trainer) and Brian Fletcher (jockey) in 1974.
  • 9 year old horses have won 50% of races in the last 10 years.
  • An amateur jockey has not won the Grand National since 1990 when Marcus Armytage lead Mr Frisk to victory.
