State of Play out until Spring

One of the Grand National 2010 favourites State of Play is out of racing until the spring. The horse, who finished 4th in last year’s Grand National, pulled up in the Hennessey Gold Cup due to a problem in his lumber region. Trainer Evan Williams said:

“We found a problem in his lumber region and he is very sore… We’ve treated that but he will have to have a good break now and we won’t see him until the spring.”

Winner of the Hennessey Denman remains favourite for the 2010 Grand National.
